Redefining Guitar Protection

Designed and conceived by Martin I. Ritter

Scroll

MR-MODA® was established in 2014 as a super high-end instrument protection range, conceived in response to a demand for ultra-protective, ultra-minimalist gig bags that combine minimalist design with uncompromising performance. The brand translates sleek form and refined simplicity into modern protection solutions for serious musicians and discerning players.

The name MR-MODA® reflects a focused design intent within the broader authored body of work of Martin I. Ritter, integrating minimal aesthetics with technical excellence.

Design Philosophy

MR-MODA® is guided by the principle that protection and simplicity can coexist without compromise.

Rather than adopting ornamentation or excess, the collection focuses on essential form, structural integrity, and performance-driven design. Visual restraint and durability are treated as one, with each design decision balancing minimalist presence and protective responsibility.

Protection is engineered into the architecture of each bag. Padding, internal reinforcement, and support are integral to the form, allowing the products to perform reliably under the rigours of transport, touring, and frequent use. Materials and construction are selected to ensure long-term stability, resistance to wear, and preservation of instrument condition.

The Range

MR-MODA® was developed as a concentrated range rather than a broad product system.

The product lineup is narrow by design, offered specifically for classical guitars, dreadnought acoustic guitars, electric guitars, and bass guitars. Within this focus, each model expresses the same logic of simplicity and protection, with subtle differences in shape and functional detailing appropriate to the instrument type.

The result is an instrument protection range that delivers minimal visual language alongside technical robustness and touring-ready usability.

Authorship

MR-MODA® was designed and conceived by Martin I. Ritter.

His work is internationally recognised for reshaping how musical instrument bags and cases are designed, perceived, and valued. In 1996, he founded and created an eponymous instrument bag brand that permanently altered the landscape of instrument protection, establishing a new relationship between function, design, and authorship that influenced industry standards worldwide.

MR-MODA® was established in 2014 as a focused and refined continuation of this broader body of work, exploring ultra-protective, minimalist solutions while maintaining contemporary standards of construction and durability.

Due to health-related circumstances, Martin I. Ritter stepped back from active commercial engagement. This site therefore exists as a preserved reference, documenting authorship, design intent, and a distinct chapter within a wider creative legacy, without defining its conclusion.
